  1. Beautiful necklace first of all! Secondly to answer this astonishing question...my first response was to give (that's the humble, unselfish thing to do), but then I thought and heard this amazing piece of insight --> To receive is just as rewarding and here's how: when we accept a person's gift, with them desiring with their whole heart to give it, we should welcome this blessing with open arms and pray a blessing upon the giver. This is actually a service of giving in itself because when you refused to recieve, it blocks the windows of heaven that pour out a blessing upon us and them ... we should both give and receive with the same attitude ... humbley.

Again, this necklace is beautiful and I pray for your store to prosper!

  2. Sarah, what an incredible post! Thank you! When I formulated the question, I had the same impulse as you: "of course it's better to give than receive" but you indentified exactly what crossed my mind at that point - "is it, really?". The answer is not really as simple as one might at first think, is it (wink)! ox AJ

  4. HI! For me, it is all in the spirit of giving and receiving... I am a born giver and I LOVE to give... it pleases me to see pleasure in others, opening gifts, seeing the light in their eyes, the smiles on their faces. Personally, receiving is gr8 too! How many times do we get a gift that we don't know WHAT we will do with it? Many times for me, I am sure to respond with a big smile and a sincere "thank you so much" as I want the giver to feel that same joy I feel in the giving... even if that clock has nowhere to live in my home... It is the spirit of giving and receiving that matters most to me.

  5. I think it's always better to give...but love to be on the recieving end of something unexpected, even something small. :)

  6. First of all, how beautiful! Secondly, that's a tough question. I tend to give more than I receive because I like making people happy, whether it's with something tangible or just with a kind thought or effort. But, I think the entire "exchange" of giving and receiving (when done with thought and caring), is the best! :)

  7. I have to say that i deeply enjoy giving. I love the joy that i can bring to someone. Even if it is something small i put my whole heart into it and make sure that person receives something that i know will put a smile on their face. It makes me all warm and fuzzy inside watching someone either open a gift or receive something as simple as a coupon.

  8. I have to agree with Sarah - and this really got me thinking. My automatic answer was "Giving" but, by allowing someone else the pleasure of giving, seeing that person's eyes smile, is also gracious.
